Whether or not you are planning to join us at tonight's family s'udah, please keep in mind that you are (and every member of our community is) welcome to attend each and every lecture or shiur which Rabbi Shaya Cohen plans to lead this weekend: tonight's lecture on "Recognizing the Differences Between Our Children" will i'y'H' begin in the Main Shul at an appropriate time after the start of the family s'udah -- we estimate that starting time as 7PM -- and tomorrow's "With All Your Heart,"shiur on t'filah is, as previously announced, scheduled for 3PM, also in the Main Shul.  In addition, all young men and women of HS age are cordially invited to join Rabbi Cohen in the JEC Reibel Beis Medrash on Shabbos afternoon between 1:45-2:45PM for a Q&A session.

Thank you for reading, and, keeping in mind the thought that we are all "at risk" each and every moment, have a wonderful Shabbos!

A new WWWsite, http://www.dafhashovua.org/, now contains the first set of links for what will be recordings of more than one thousand shiurim in Yiddish on nine m'sechtos of Talmud Bavli given by Harav Mordechai Pinchas Teitz z'l' between 1953 and 1988 on the "Daf Hashovua" radio program.  Not only was "Daf Hashovua" revolutionary in its harbotzas haTorah throughout America and other continents (including behind the Iron Curtain), it also influenced and spread the creation of Torah tapes and "Daf Yomi" groups.

After all the Yiddish tapes are up on the Website, the second half of the project will be to make available the "Daf Hashovua" in English, recordings of the shiurim that our Mara d'Asra, Rav Elazar Mayer Teitz sh'l'y't'a', gave on the radio, particularly on Maseches Bava M'tzia.

Go to DafHashovua.ORG for a special learning experience.  Thank you!

Tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 27th, is an action-packed night for women in our community!  Beginning at 8:15PM in the JEC Board Room, Rabbi Avrohom Herman will be giving his weekly shiur on topics in Halachah and Torah Shebik'sav -- i'y'H', this week's shiur will continue a discussion of Hilchos Bishul b'Shabbos, after which Rabbi Herman will delve into the possible meanings inherent in the two names, Ya'akov and Yisrael, given to the father of the sh'vatim.  At the same time, the second in what we hope will be many monthly Women's Forum meetings will i'y'H' take place at the home of Tammy and Rabbi Jonathan Schwartz, 181 Windsor Way, and tonight's talk by and discussion with Rabbi Schwartz is entitled "From Hellenism to Shovavimism: Educating our children ourselves -- a healthy discussion of how to discuss sensitive subjects with our children."  If you're a lady, please make the time for one of these events (and, if you don't already, consider attending the weekly shiur on a regular basis in the future) -- you won't be disappointed!
