If you like to learn with a group which tries to address a different topic each week in an informal and participatory fashion, or if you really like eating chulent on Thursday nights, the "Chulent Chaburah" of Yeshivas Be'er Yitzchok is for you!  It takes place in the Kollel Beis Medrash at Adath Israel after AI's first Ma'ariv minyan and features a shiur and, of course, chulent.  Tonight's shiur will i'y'H' be given by Dovid Zweig, YBY Administrator.  Thank you, and enjoy!

All middle-school boys and girls are cordially invited to get together for a LaG baOmer BBQ Bash! on motzoei Shabbos P' Emor, May 5th, between 9:30-11:30PM in the JEC parking lot.  Cost: $10 per person.  Elie Bodner advises: bring your sneakers!  Thank you.

All members are welcome to attend and participate in the next Elmora Shul meeting, scheduled for this coming Tuesday night, May 8th, at 8:30PM in the Main Shul.  These meetings provide you with a chance to hear what's going on and to participate in deciding what will, b'ezras H', be accomplished, so if you can, please come...and then stay for the refreshments and the chance to buttonhole Shul Board members one-on-one.  Thank you, and have a wonderful Shabbos!

Rabbi Avrohom Herman will be starting another miniseries of Bar Mitzvah Haskafah classes this week.  They will i'y'H' take place on the next two Tuesday evenings, May 8th and 15th, in the JEC Teachers Lounge between 7:15PM and 7:45PM, with a third session scheduled for the first night of Chag haShavuos.  These classes are for boys in an age range from approximately a year before they become a Bar Mitzvah through approximately a year after they become a Bar Mitzvah.  Thank you!

Thanks to your past munificence, our shul has many new siddurim and machzorim, and here is another opportunity to share in the mitzva of "zeh Keili v'anveihu": sponsor an Artscroll Jaffa [Hebrew-only] or Artscroll Stone [Hebrew/English] Chumash! or, even better, sponsor more than one!  Please take advantage of this limited-quantity offer: print out the online form and fill it out as directed.  Thank you!

As noted in previous Shul newsletters, we will be showcasing our community and neighborhood on the Sunday before Chag haShavuos, May 20th, and everyone is invited to join us and any visitors that afternoon, beginning at 12:30PM, for a Community Picnic and BBQ in Echo Lake Park.  The picnic will feature fun and excitement for all ages (yes, our top-notch Youth Department is involved in planning it)!  Fee for members is $10 per person with a $40 family cap ($12 and $50 for non-members), and a bus will be available (leaving at 12noon and returning at 3PM) -- please RSVP to Elie Bodner at 917-583-5963.  Please find online a map of the park and directions to it, as well as another map highlighting the eastern section, where our party will be located; further information can be found on a Webpage we've set up specifically for this special day.  Thank you!
