As recently announced in Shul: for a fantastic contribution of $500 per seat plus your year-5769 membership dues, we will freeze those dues at last year's level for the next 5 years! and, in addition, we will affix your name to your Shul seat with a lovely plaquette! Many thanks to all the families who hosted or will host this year's Perek on the Lawn shiurim -- in conjunction with meriting to have so many people study in your home, you have helped make this program a great success! One more host is requested, and the Shabbos in question is this coming Shabbos afternoon, the 26th (Shabbos P' Mattos) of July. If you would like to host this shiur, please contact Rabbi Avrohom Herman at 908-355-4850 x104 or via e-mail. Thank you!

This week's schedule notes that our Shul will be bringing the weekly Chumash shiur of Rabbi Yissocher Frand to the community this coming Thursday night -- however, Rabbi Frand's shiur is currently on summer hiatus and will i'y'H' resume in September. The oral correction in Shul this past Shabbos noted that there would be no via-Internet Torah broadcast for our community this coming Thursday night, but we are pleased to modify that announcement: the broadcaster will be providing other Torah content to us during the Thursday nights between July 24th and the resumption of Rabbi Frand's shiur, and our community's dedicated volunteers will i'y'H' be able to continue providing technical support to ensure that all who wish to come to JEC Room 137 on Thursday nights will be able to enjoy that content between 9-10PM. If you have any questions about the Thursday-night broadcast or wish to help bring its content to the community, please contact Akiva Miller at 908-414-2377 or via e-mail or Dr. Yossi Norowitz at 908-355-5861 or via e-mail. Thank you!

When an emergency occurs and Hatzalah (or any other responder) is called, every minute counts, yet more than once in the few years of our local Hatzalah group's existence, its members have wasted precious time trying to find a caller's house in the dark simply because no addresses in the vicinity were visible. A cheap and easy solution to this problem exists: purchase for and mount solar-powered digits (like the product listed in this brochure) onto the front of your house! A member of our Hatzalah, Yudi Abraham, took it upon himself to research the companies who sell such digits and to attempt to negotiate a community-wide price with them. One company has agreed to sell these digits at $12 per digit (a small fraction above their cost) for all orders placed by 14 August 2008, and an anonymous donor is sponsoring a raffle for all households placing an order during these next few weeks, with three such households receiving their entire purchase price back! To purchase digits through this limited-time offer, or if you have any questions, please contact Yudi at 908-838-4859 or via e-mail. Thank you!
