The JEC's annual Arba Minim ("Lulav & Esrog") sale will take place tonight in the JEC Halpern Cafeteria (the "lunchroom") between 7:15PM and 9PM -- the cost per set is $36 for community members and $45 for those living elsewhere (see flyer for details).  Please note that another community event is also taking place tonight: Linda Teicher will be selling ladies' hats at Adath Israel between 7:30PM and 10PM (see attached image of flyer for details).  Thank you.

The "hosha'nos" will be sold in our shul this year by an outside vendor.  They can be purchased Wednesday night before the 6:10PM Mincha minyan and after the 6:40PM Ma'ariv minyan for $3 a bundle.  No bundles will be sold on Hosha'na Rabbah.  Thank you, Gut Moeid/Mo-adim l’Simcha, and Chag Sameach!

The funeral and l'vaya for Mrs. Lev a'h', the sister of t'lch't' Brenda Strashun, will take place at 12:30PM today, Wednesday, 11 October 2006, at Shomrei Hachomos, 4218 Ft. Hamilton Parkway in Borough Park, NY.  Mrs. Strashun will sit shiv'a beginning an hour after the end of Simchas Hatorah, Sunday evening, Oct. 15th, at her residence, 194 Surrey Road in Hillside, NJ (tel#: 908-353-8727; ZIP: 07205-2916) and will sit Monday morning through Friday afternoon at 1872 - 60th Street in Brooklyn, NY (tel#: 718-837-0723; ZIP: 11204-2320).

Mr. Erreich a'h' passed away on Friday night (Shmini Atzeres) and will i'y'H' be buried in eretz Yisrael later today (Monday).  Tentatively, his wife, Herta, and son, Allen (Aharon), are flying back to our area mid-week and will sit shiv'a from sometime on Wednesday through midday Friday at her residence, 16 Wilson Terrace in Elizabeth, NJ (tel#: 908-352-0247 or -3031; ZIP: 07208-1712); they then plan to travel to Allen's residence, 220 High Street in Passaic, NJ (tel#: 973-916-0990; ZIP: 07055-4623), and resume the shiv'a after Shabbos.  Should we receive more concrete information on their plans, we may send an update.

Rabbi Avrohom Herman will soon resume his Hashkafah classes for young ladies ages 11 to 13 and young men ages 12 to 14.  This year, as noted in the recently-posted (and currently attached) descriptions of available shiurim, the Bas Mitzvah Hashkafah classes will i'y'H' begin on consecutive Thursday nights in November (beginning with the 2nd and skipping the 23rd of the month) and take place between 7PM and 7:45PM in the JEC Reibel Beis Medrash.  If you would like your daughter(s) to attend, please contact (or allow your young lady to contact) Rabbi Herman as soon as possible.  Thank you!
