Many people take time off in the summer, but our Adult Education Department continues to bring us the best in audio/video shiurim via the Internet all summer long! Almost every week from this coming Monday, July 9th, through Wednesday, August 29th, a variety of powerful and inspirational speakers will deal with a number of important topics on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, beginning at 9PM, and we hope to receive and display each night's Internet broadcast in the JEC Teachers Lounge. The full schedule is online. (By the way, if you can volunteer to help run the program, please contact Howard Goldsmith by e-mail or at 908-558-1920.) Thank you, and enjoy!

This coming Shabbos, thanks to the initiative of Rimona and Meir Shlomo Hornung, a group of young families (some from the Lower East Side) will be visiting our community. We know how welcoming our members are towards new faces but nevertheless wanted to give you this heads-up so that you will be even more proactive this weekend in greeting any and all visitors. Thank you!

As noted recently, we are receiving and broadcasting excellent via-Internet shiurim all summer long. During this week prior to Tish'a b'Av, please join us for presentations by Rabbi Zev Cohen of Chicago on honesty and integrity (tonight) and by Rabbi Shmuel Dishon on faith (tomorrow night); Rabbi Yissocher Frand will be speaking Wednesday night on the topic of "When Winning Isn't Everything." Thank you!

Over approximately the next two to three weeks, the two Shul bathrooms will be closed for renovations. Please use the JEC school-building bathrooms during this period -- the bathrooms nearest to the Shul are located near the kitchen on the first floor of the school, in the hallway between Elmora Avenue and the parking lot. (As these bathrooms' toilets are rather low to the ground in order to accommodate young children and accordingly may be unsuitable for some adults, anyone who feels that s/he may have trouble standing up after sitting on a low seat should instead utilize the first-floor bathrooms which are around the corner from the JEC Reibel Beis Medrash.) We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this renovation process. Thank you.

Thanks to communal efforts and word-of-mouth (and -of-keyboard), many families have rented apartments, purchased homes, or are seriously considering available rentals or housing in the Elmora section of Elizabeth and the streets surrounding it. We have recently enhanced our Website's housing-resources page with further rental contacts and with a report on area homes available for purchase. At this time, the latest apartment building to be listed in that Website section, 321 Elmora Avenue, would like it known that three one-bedroom apartments are currently available at $840-940/month and that two two-bedroom apartments are currently available at $1100/month (including parking!) -- for more information, please speak with the managing agent, Sarah Tennenbaum-Lachs, at 908-527-1974. Another listing, 516 Jersey Avenue, is a three-bedroom portion of a two-family house for $1700/month (including all utilities!) -- once again, Sarah is the person to contact.
Thank you for your efforts on behalf of our community, and best wishes for a guten Shabbes/Shabbas Shalom!

A family from Edison, NJ requests volunteers (21 years of age or older) to spend some time at Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ with their four-month-old daughter. Although any time would be helpful, they are specifically looking for help on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons in the early evening until about 7PM (when she goes to sleep) and on Fridays beginning at 3PM. They note, "In exchange for holding her and giving her a pacifier, she will give you some beautiful smiles." If you would like more information or can volunteer (even once!), please e-mail Dasi Goldsmith or call her at 908-558-1920. Thank you!
